AAIDD provides diverse and exciting opportunities to stay on top of the latest research, policies and practices in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. AAIDD has over 300 courses available online offering continuing education hours. Each month AAIDD host several free webinars.
The Arizona Center for Disability Law
ACDL is a not for profit public interest law firm. Who provide a variety of legal services to people with disabilities and /or disability related problems. They focus primarily on those cases in which individuals have nowhere else to go for legal support.
Arizona Department of Health Services
AZ DHS provides information on dental and healthcare for families. They offer state wide programs for men and women, who are eligible for free health screenings. You can also find information on obtaining birth and death certificates either in person or by mail, as well as corrections, registrations and adoptions.
Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System
AHCCCS offers medical programs and resources to serve Arizona residents who meet certain income and other requirements. You can also find information regarding long term care, behavioral health, rehabilitation, and crisis services.
Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center
SARRC is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that provides lifetime services for individuals and their families. SARRC offers comprehensive behavioral programs for all ages. SARRC has created employment services for individuals 16 years or older who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
Autism Research Institute
ARI is a nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity of donors for help to advance autism research and provide needed information and support for families and individuals with autism spectrum disorders. ARI offers free online autism education webinars for parents and professionals, clinical research newsletters, and online discussion groups.
Arizona Department of Economic Security – DDD
DES Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) provides supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities, and opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision making and engagement in the community. This site provides information on in home and day support services, home nursing, therapies, behavioral health, and transportation.
Tash advocates for human rights and inclusion for people with significant disabilities and support needs. This site provides resources for community living, inclusive education, employment, advocacy, and human rights.
The Epilepsy Foundation
The Epilepsy Foundation and affiliates provide many resources for individuals and families dealing epilepsy. This site provides information on managing your epilepsy, types of seizures, treatment programs, safety and clinical trials. You can also search for epilepsy specialist in your area.
National Down Syndrome Society
NDSS is the leading human rights organization for all individuals with Down syndrome. On this site you will find links for webinar series that include health, education, and sports. Find out more information on upcoming charity races, and the national buddy walk program in your area.
Social Security Administration
Social Security Administration’s website allows you to apply for benefits online, that includes retirement, disability, medicare, survivors, and supplemental security income. You can also request a replacement social security care or estimate your future benefits.
United Cerebral Palsy Association of America
UPC and affiliates provide services such as housing, physical therapy, assistive technology training, early intervention services, individual and family support, social and recreational programs, community living, state and local referrals. This site also provides a link for financial assistance to individuals with disabilities for the purchase of assistive technology equipment.
