Family Members as Paid Providers

In some situations, family members may be paid to provide certain in-home services (HCBS). The family member would be hired as an employee by Consumer Advocacy Projects, Inc. We would make the required training available to the family member and do all the requisite reporting to DES/DDD. The family member would provide the program supports in the home. Immediate relatives that are not allowed to provide services include husband/wife of consumer, natural or step parent for a child under 18 years of age.

This is also a perfect opportunity for family friends or neighbors who have an established relationship with the family/consumer to do the same thing. Families or consumers who identify others that they would like as caregivers may send those individuals to Consumer Advocacy Projects, Inc to apply for employment.
